Papa's Graceful Spirit A Trail Pleasure 3-gait Champion Papa’s Graceful Spirit is the very first offspring by Multi-national Grand-champion, Papa’s Royal Delight out of a Pride’s Dark Spirit mare. At just 7 yrs old, this awesome mare is already a champion in her own right. In front of walking horse judges, she rarely places less than 2nd, and most usually takes home the blue in Trail Pleasure divisions. Grace recently won both the preliminary and her Championship at the NWHA Region 6 Championship show in Athens, Texas, for Trail PLeasure Western 3 Gait Championship. Always keg shod or barefoot, Gracie has the same correctness of gait that her daddy has always been known for. She carries her flatfoot walk using that wonderful headnod to power her big backend stride in an even 4-beat, energy conserving gait. Watch how she uses her body fluidly and in balance, almost rolling over her legs without suspension or wasted effort. This big striding flatfoot walk then continues right on up into one of the purest running walks I’ve ever seen, extending stride, reach and tempo. No matter how fast she goes, she maintains that impeccably correct form. You just know in watching her that this is what a walking horse was bred to do… carry you along in a gliding and floating ride while preserving her own energy to keep going. When asked for, her canter is slow lifting, rolling and easy to ride. Nothing runaway about this gait, it’s what the rocking-chair canter was meant to be. This lovely mare has a simply wonderful personality with a “no worries” attitude that eagerly eats up the trail. She’s always up for a new experience and has such self confidence that she is very solid and non-spooky. Her ground manners are exceptional and she’ll side pass over to anything you want to climb on to mount, then wait patiently for you to get on and ask her to go. Beware however that she’s no dummy and needs an owner that’s at least as smart as she is, or she’ll own you. It’s rare that a horse of this quality is offered for sale, and we’ll not sell her to just anyone. We’re looking for a long-term home for Grace, and an owner that will appreciate and love her as much as we do. She’s finished in her gaits and already winning ribbons with regularity. She will make a superior addition to any breeding program striving to develop naturally talented pleasure walking horses. This is not a bargain horse, nor is she meant for the occasional pleasure rider. This is a top quality registered/DNA tested walking horse mare that is already a proven champion in her own right.
